The theme of ASIAD is that when you are jealouse of people who have more than you, it will lead to you do things that, in the end, you're not proud of. Another theme, possible less noticed, is discrimination. Margot was discriminated against because she could remember what the sun looked like and felt like, while the other kids, who last saw the sun at two years old, could not.
